"In our search to obtain relief from the stresses of life, may we earnestly seek ways to simplify our lives. May we comply with the inspired counsel and direction the Lord has given us in the great plan of happiness. May we be worthy to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost and follow the guidance of the Spirit as we navigate this mortal journey. May we prepare ourselves to accomplish the ultimate purpose of this mortal test- to return and live with our Heavenly Father."

Miss Carly turns 7!!

These pictures are completely out of order and there are a ton but after 7 years with this girl how could I narrow it down?  I seriously can't believe Carly is seven! I look at her baby pictures and it seems like a lifetime ago.  Makes me a little sad but also very happy at the little person she is growing up to be.
*She is super sweet and honestly cares about people and how they feel.
*She is very independent and always has been. It's a quality I'm trying not to get aggravated with.
*She is super smart and the top reader in her class.
*She loves school and everything about it!
*She never wants to miss out on anything.
*She will always try to get in on a conversation and needs to know every single detail about what is being said.
*She loves to do crafty things or anything dealing with making a mess.
*She is a tough little girl but every now and then you can see how much of a tender heart she has.
*She loves loves loves animals, bugs, and reptiles. She was meant to be a farm girl.
*She loves to stay up late at night in her bed coloring or reading.
*She loves to sing and has a really great voice. She gets nervous at the idea of singing in front of large groups though. (that was never the case when she was younger)
*She is getting really good at riding the dirt bike. I'm still not too thrilled about it but I married Chad so I guess I knew what I was getting into.
*She loves a plan or a schedule. She thrives on it actually.
*She is always writing cute little notes to me or Chad or her teacher. Some of them are pretty hilarious!
*She's still not too fond of pulling a loose tooth but it's getting better.
*She is a good big sister. She is still a little rough at times but I know she loves Annie so much! Sam on the other hand, those two are like oil and water. :)

I just can't imagine life without her. She brings a lot of craziness and loud into our family but I am so glad she is mine. She changed my life forever when she came into this world.

Sam is 5!!

I don't even know where to begin. I really can't believe my little Sam is 5 years old (and going to Kindergarten in the fall!) He is still so little to me.
Some facts about Sam at 5:
*He is still very affectionate. He loves to give loves and kisses.
*He loves to tease, especially his older sister.  He loves to play little games or tricks on people.
*He is such a daddy's boy. If Chad is home Sam is usually found right by his side.  He'll be out in the woods with Chad for hours "helping" his daddy work.
*He is so ready to go to school. I think he's just tired of being at home all day with Annie and I.
*He's not a big eater anymore. Unless it's Scholtsky's. Then he can down a whole sandwhich within a matter of minutes.
*He is a good big brother, although he thinks he can play rough with Annie who doesn't really appreciate is most of the time.
* He loves anything to do with fast cars (hmmmm...wonder where he got that from?)
*Whenever he sees a cool car he is sure to point it out to me.
*He still likes to follow Carly around when she gets home from school.
*He is coming into the phase where when he gets angry or upset he turns to hitting or kicking. I suppose that is just a boy thing?? Hopefully it won't last (or am I just kidding myself?)
*We didn't really go through a terrible two or three phase with this kid.  It seems to be that we will get a frightening five stage?? hopefully not!
*He whistles in his sleep some nights.
*Every morning before he gets dressed he usually asks if it will be "hot or cold" and then sometimes he'll have to run outside to check.
*
*
*
I kind of want to cry thinking of how fast time is going. Wasn't Carly just 5?? I couldn't decide which pictures to post so I just posted a ton. Enjoy Sam and all his cuteness! We sure love this kid, although he knows how to push buttons and makes us want to pull our hair out. I just can't imagine my life without this little boy of mine!

The big ONE!

We did it! We made it through her first year. The first couple months of her life it felt like it was going to take forever to get to this day.  Unfortunately, the fussy four(months) and the rest of her first year are gone. I still can't believe it.  (I also can't believe I'm pregnant and celebrating a 1st birthday!) I already did a little update on her in the previous post and not much has changed since then so I'll just share pictures.  It was hard to decide, I love every picture I take of this little stink!

The above pictures were all taken on her birth day or within her first week.

The above were taken at 1 week old

The two above were at 4 months old

 around 5 months old

I think it's obvious when this was taken :)

 9 months I believe
*
All the rest were taken today at ONE!!
Luckily the rain let up enough for me to take some outside pictures.

(Her shirt says "I'm the Birthday girl!")

I always have a hard time deciding what clothes to put her in for pictures and then a bow....too many decisions!

I'll say it again! I still can't believe she is one. I get teary eyed thinking how fast it went by. Thank heavens for pictures and videos.
We sure love this little gal!

updates

This post is really random but lately that is how my life is going right now. Some days are great, others are so-so, and the rest I just want to lay on the couch and do nothing.
There should be a thing called 1st trimester depression because I'm sure i'm going through it. blah.  Anyway, enough with the complaints. There are just a few things I wanted to post just so i don't forget.
Carly had a little program for the end of the year.  She was so excited to show us what she'd been working on most the year in her music class. It is still somewhat surreal to think I have a child old enough to be a part of all these elementary school programs. And before you know it, I'll have two programs to attend next year!

Annie has really hit a lot of milestones lately. I don't remember exact dates but I suppose that's what happens with the third child.
*She said her first word (we think) just like her big sister it is "Kitty" or something to that affect whenever she sees the cats.  We think she also says "Daddy" but were not positive.
*She is really into giving hugs and kisses lately. She'll kiss pretty much anything. It's quite funny when we see her bend down and kiss the carpet.
About a week and a half ago she just decided to start to try and walk. Ever since then it is all she wants to do.  So far the most she has taken is about 5 steps.
*She got sick last week and ran a fever for a couple days which ended in a little rash.  She still is a bit needy but I don't blame her.  It could possibly be teething but who really knows??
*She's also really into waving.
*She just started clapping her hands yesterday.

I think that is pretty much it! I can't believe she'll be ONE on Friday!!
