"In our search to obtain relief from the stresses of life, may we earnestly seek ways to simplify our lives. May we comply with the inspired counsel and direction the Lord has given us in the great plan of happiness. May we be worthy to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost and follow the guidance of the Spirit as we navigate this mortal journey. May we prepare ourselves to accomplish the ultimate purpose of this mortal test- to return and live with our Heavenly Father."

Happy St. Patricks Day!

speaking of small creatures.....

Last Saturday we visited the park near our house. We thought we'd see if there were any fish in the pond. There wasn't. But we did find something else that was too cute to pass up. We took it home for about 10 minutes and then decided to take it back.

So cute!

Carly was a little skeptical, but she warmed up to it very quickly!

Chickens

Someday...in the future.....we want chickens. Last night as I was drifting off to sleep I thought of the best names for my future chickens. Yes, I will name them.

"Chester" fried chicken
"Kentucky " fried chicken
"Popeye" 's chicken
"Nugget"

*They seemed a lot more clever at 11:00 at night.

Rodeo Time!

We finally made it to the Houston Rodeo. After four years of living here we have never made the trip downtown to see it. I'm so glad we did. Our kids had a blast and we had fun too! It was a great day I have to say! (not sure why this is underlined)
Part of the crew (in the petting zoo)
My little friend! He (or she) was so adorable. It kept jumping on my lap.

A pile of Piggies. There was a bunch of Mamma pigs that had just had piglets in the past day or so and there were a couple more who were expecting within the next couple days. They were so so so so cute!! I want one! Carly kept calling them "Wilburs"

Sam LOVED the petting zoo. He kept trying to pick everything up. He was not afraid of anything!

Carly loved the Llama. She was also not afraid of anything. Me...on the other hand...i was just trying not to get spit on by the llama.

Carly was big enough to go by herself! She had so much fun!

One of the rides. They LOVED it!

don't know a title

We had a little visitor the other night. Skipper was freaking out so I opened the garage door to yell at him and I stared face to face with a huge raccoon. Skipper had the poor mean thing backed up in a corner. I guess it likes the taste of our cat food.
Random. But whoever invented this must have a sense of humor because it's a joke. It never works. "Press here, tear back" yeah-right.

Carly found a little friend outside last Saturday. She is so funny, she kept calling it her friend and was so sad when she had to let it go.

Carly LOVES Charlotte's Web. She learned most the songs pretty much the first time she watched it at my parents back in December. She came walking down the stairs today singing the songs. It was so funny!

has it really come to this??

This is really long.......sorry......

SO, a couple weeks ago we had a visitor at our door. A Kirby Salesperson with free samples of dryer sheets if we would give them a little of our time. I was in giving the kids a bath and Chad is a sucker and couldn't say no. So....after about two hours of her vacuuming, cleaning, vacuuming, cleaning....I was getting a little irritated. I had some sewing I wanted to do, not sit and watch this lady show me how dirty my house was. (in all reality, it wasn't as bad as I though...the dirt...) Well, she goes through the whole charade of calling "her office" talking to some unknown person (I felt like I was on Deal or No Deal and she was talking to the banker guy) I don't know how many times but each time we would say "no, we don't want to buy" He would come back with some discount to "make the price more appealing" Well, after the guy on the phone "went as low as he could, a price that is only available at this moment" was done, the Kirby Lady supervisor stopped by to check her work, to see if she has cleaned enough. Well, she comes in, finds a spot on our couch and basically accused us of not having a clean house a priority. EXCUSE ME!? I was getting real irritated by this point. She then starts to bargain with us, trying to make the deal sweeter. (she even tried to butter us up by sayng that she though Chad was a Pastor!! Chad?) First of all, no Vacuum (or home cleaning device) should ever be 2300.00!! Well, eventually she came down to "The lowest price possible." 1100.00. "Our payments a month would be nothing, It would be only 10 dollars a week" she says. Personally, I don't want to have a monthly payment for a vacuum. No matter how much dirt it cleans up. She said this is a one and only deal, we'd never get this deal again. Well, we stood our ground. We said No. They probably felt bad for our kids who had to live in such a dirty home :) They left. I was kind of furious. But I got over it quick. AS I was sitting there listening to her saying this was the lowest price possible I kept thinking "There has to be a way to get this cheaper." But I didn't say anything. The next morning I got on the computer and went to good old E-bay. Looked up Kirby Vacuum. Low and Behold a 2009 Kirby Sentria cleaning System. Brand new. 263.00. I was so happy, yet furious. I couldn't believe that if we were foolish enough and actually purchased it the night before we would've wasted so much money!! Then I was extremely happy because deep deep deep down inside, I really want one! So now, for a fraction of their price I can have one!! Moral of the Story. E-bay ROCKS!
