"In our search to obtain relief from the stresses of life, may we earnestly seek ways to simplify our lives. May we comply with the inspired counsel and direction the Lord has given us in the great plan of happiness. May we be worthy to have the companionship of the Holy Ghost and follow the guidance of the Spirit as we navigate this mortal journey. May we prepare ourselves to accomplish the ultimate purpose of this mortal test- to return and live with our Heavenly Father."

sweet reminders

Every night I check on the kids before I got to bed. Last night I was reminded of how sweet and loving our little Carly really is.  During the day she is crazy and outgoing and loud and talks non stop. I love her to pieces but she can be a tad overwhelming at times. I am so grateful for these sweet reminders at night, reminders that she is just a little girl who is excited for a little baby in the house. She is a daughter of God who was born with the ability to nurture and care for those around her. (even if it's just a little doll)  After crazy days I love to be reminded of how much I am blessed with such sweet little kids.

*Seeing Carly last night reminded me of a picture I took of her when she was 14 months old. I LOVE it!*

So true. Your sweet memories captured in pictures or on video are treasures to hold when the tough times roll around.
My sweetest memories are from the times of our and your youth, seeing love grow and lessons learned from all of our experiences.
Parenting never ends it just grows richer. Even though distance and time may make the interactions more difficult, the richness comes from the past interactions as the new experiences bring greater joy into our lives.
It is a marvelous growth to behold, a loved one coming to know of themselves as well as they are known. It may seem a strange way to put it but we are becoming to know who we are in relationship to our Father-in-Heaven as well as we are know by Him.
I love being a parent, to share in that growth and enlightenment of an offspring as my work and my joy is to help my children come to know the love and care that I have for them, the same as our shared Father has for us.
Congratulations on the addition to the next generation.
Love Dad

As I said to Brittany the other day, there is nothing sweeter than a sleeping child. I remember going in to check on you and your sisters and brother. That was when I was reminded how blessed I was to be a mother. Love the picture of Carly!!!!!
